Privacy notice

This site is run by Jose L. Blas, based in Andalucía, Spain. This notice explains what the site collects, why, how long it is kept and how to ask for it to be deleted.

Analytics

This site can use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and which links are used (for example CV downloads and contact links). It only runs if you click “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner. If you reject it or don’t choose, Google Analytics is not loaded and sets no cookies.

  • What is collected: pages viewed, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, referring site, and the events listed above. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to recognise returning visitors.
  • Why: to see which content is useful and improve the site.
  • How long: 14 months, after which Google deletes the data.
  • Who processes it: Google Ireland Limited, which may transfer data to the United States.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; rejecting removes the Google Analytics cookies from this site. Analytics never receives what you type in the contact form or the chat.

Contact form

  • What is collected: your name, email address, message and, if you choose to fill it in, how you found me.
  • Why: to reply to your message.
  • How long: 90 days, then deleted. This also applies to details sent through the chat’s form.
  • Who processes it: Netlify, Inc. (Netlify Forms), which hosts this site and may store data in the United States.

The “Ask Jose” chat

The chat runs entirely in your browser. It answers from a fixed set of prepared replies; the questions you type are not sent to a server, stored or shared, and they disappear when you leave or reload the page.

If you use the chat’s “leave your details” form, your name, email and optional message are sent through Netlify Forms and handled exactly like the contact form above.

Stored in your browser

  • analytics_consent: remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so the banner doesn’t appear on every page. It stays until you clear your browser data or change it with Cookie settings.
  • theme: remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. It stays until you clear your browser data.
  • analytics_ignore: only set if you visit a private page that turns analytics off for your own browser.

Your rights and deletion requests

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data you sent through this site, or object to its use. Write to ux@joselblas.com and I will reply within 30 days.

You also have the right to complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
